Hello all... I'm trying to see flash animations in Firefox, but I'm no luck at all.
My system is an AMD64 Sempron running Gentoo and Firefox do not load nothing related with flash (youtube videos and more).
Things that made flash work again:
Quote: | #ln -s /usr/lib32/libexpat.so /usr/lib32/libexpat.so.0 |
But all topics says it's dirty.
An now... things that do not made flash work again:
Quote: | #revdep-rebuild -X --library libexpat.so.0 |
It was issued after updating to libexpat 2.0.1.
Any help?! I've read a lot of posts and nothing.
Greetings. _________________ 64 Bits, good good! |

Have you done:
Code: | # revdep-rebuild -X |
It's not like it's going to hurt to not specify a library to rebuild. Also, try re-emerging Flash:
Code: | # emerge -av1 net-www/netscape-flash |

I've done that too, and no luck with that... I'm thinking giving the 64bits installation up and come back to 32 bits.

Don't feel bad -- I did the same thing six months ago. It's a difficult thing to keep working, especially when you need 32-bit programs. |

The expat issue occurred on every platform. This is not a problem exclusive to 64-bit to say the least. _________________ ECS GeForce6100SM-M Motherboard

You can't rebuild a 32-bit package, on a 64-bit system, so revdep-rebuild won't work.
I had /usr/lib32/libexpat.so.0 disappear when I upgraded from emul-linux-x86-baselibs-10.2 to emul-linux-x86-baselibs-20071130. I just went ahead and my the symlink my self and that seems to have fixed the problem, though a bug might need to be reported. |

Cool. Thanks a lot. I have the same problem, adding the symlink works. _________________ "There will be more joy in heaven over the tear-bathed face of a repentant sinner than over the white robes of a hundred just men." (LM, 114) |
