|
|
Hi all,
Because of recent problems with audacious and my desire to try something new, I tried installing xmms2. I used the I used the instructions here and, unfortunately, it didn't work.
I'm wondering, is there an up-to-date set of instructions somewhere that will get it installed easily. Unfortunately, most other music players just didn't appeal to me as much as xmms2.
Best,
Alex |

I once found an ebuild somewhere and edited it a bit..

I use the -9999 one. Works for me. _________________ http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki - pro-audio software overlay

Thanks, though I'm having no luck in it. How did you set up the portage overlay or install it? I tried several times but just couldn't get it to emerge, period.
Best,

See http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Installing_3rd_Party_Ebuilds
Then cd to your overlay
Code: | mkdir media-sound
cd media-sound
svn co http://gimpel.ath.cx/svn/gimpel/media-sound/xmms2/ |

That's completely unhelpful. Show a meaningful error. |
