hallo wie kann ich eine ältere xorg version installieren?
habe nun xorg 7.3 und das problem dass mein rechner nach einem strg+alt+backspace gefriert und ich gar nichts mehr machen kann, ausserdem hat es keine auswirkungen wenn ich in meiner /etc/X11/xorg.conf die Auflösung herunterstelle, meine mousepad lässt sich nicht mehr wie früher konfigurieren und 3d beschleunigung funktioniert nicht mehr.
ich habe ein samsung x20 1730 V und musste früher immer mit 915resolution meine auflösung bei jedem start anpassen aber danach lief wenigstens alles, jetzt wird die auflösung automatisch erkannt aber ich kann gar nichts mehr anpassen?! habe morgen eine präsentation und dann wäre es ganz gut wenn ich den beamer mit einer auflösung von 1024x768 ansprechen könnte...

emerge =xorg-x11-7.2 -av sollte ausreichen.
Hoffe, dir ist damit geholfen.
Wenn du am WE Zeit hast, dann eröffne mal einen Thread mit den richtigen Problembeschreibungen mit Versionen etc etc.
und dann wäre es doch gelacht, wenn wir das nicht schaffen würden...

Ich habe erst die Tage von ATI/AMD fglrx zum open source radeon gewechselt und dabei auch gleich auf xorg-x11-7.3.
Zu deiner 3d beschleunigung kann ich dir nichts sagen, aber bezüglich der Auflösung hilft dir vielleicht folgender Link: http://wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/HowToRandR12 |

Eine Frage zu deinem Freeze? Habe nämlich ähnliche Probleme mit meinem X20.
Beim shutdown bleibt er ab und zu hängen wenn er von X auf die Konsole wechselt um die Dienste zu beenden.
Es sieht irgendwie farbig sehr durcheinander aus.
Wenn er das nächste mal freezed mach ich mal ein Bild.

danke Finswimmer mit deinem tip konnte ich xorg 7.2 installieren, aber leider lags nicht da dran...
habe nun herausgefunden dass es an dem grafikkarten treiber Intel i915 aus dem kernel liegt, wenn ich den I810 nehme kann ich den xserver killen und in die console wechseln habe aber keine 3d beschleunigung. So wie ich das sehe habe ich die wahl zwischen ein bischen 3d beschleunigung und gar keiner. Das andere Problem ist das meine LED nicht mehr leuchtet wenn ich CapsLock drin habe, aber erst wenn ich den xserver starte?!?!...
Hat dazu jemand eine idee? wenn ihr mehr infos und configs braucht bitte:
