|
|
I would like to change my partions as little as possible.
I have the following:
/dev/hda1 Linux Boot
/dev/hda2 Linux Swap
/dev/hda3 Linux Root
/dev/hdb1 Win XP
/dev/hdb2 Empty but 100MB for Boot (under cylinder 1024)
/dev/hdb3 Empty for Root
Can gentoo share the same swap parition as my current Linux install?
My current install uses Lilo, can I keep it and point it to the root partition on /dev/hdb? What would I have change to make it do so?
I've tried this before and never got it to boot without swapping out the drive and doing the install as /dev/hda. Any tips Gentoo Linux Gurus? |

Yes, it can. Your layout looks fine. _________________ Gentoo:

I second what Utoxin says. It will work fine.
You will be able to keep lilo and point it to the / partition on /dev/hdb. _________________ Postcount ++ |
