Hi,
I have seen there is a newer version on the web. The current one is hardmasked. I don*t know If there is a newer linux version available.
I*ll check that today. I didn*t find any bug for the newer version yet.

gentoo-portage makes a note that AA's devs laid off some linux+mac developers... this could be why there aren't any newer versions. the link you posted might only be the windows version, but i didn't quite check.

The last version of America's Army for Linux was 2.5.
The Windows version works quite well under wine, except for Punkbuster ...
There has been quite a bit of work done on this and the patches are posted here:
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9685
Unfortunately the author of the patches uses a pseudonym and they will never be officially accepted into the wine tree. The author posts that wine will need to mimic API entry signatures to send to Evenbalance in order to get Punkbuster to work. With the patches already posted a player can join a server and play sometimes up to an hour or so, but then the api signature checks will remove you. They may cause a hardware ban, so use at your own risk, but I haven't been banned yet. |
