hi there,
i have a problem with my microphone,
i've installed alsa 1.0.14a-r1 and used it with skype and audacity...after
something wrong (i don't know) i can't use it.
I've tryed to set up mic settings with alsamixer or kmix but testing it with
audacity i've looked that the audio in receive the input signal
but this input is played with noise in output.
Also, i've noted that only high frequency signals are played (with noise) while other frequency
are such as filtered.
can anyone help me?
thank you in advance |

Did you try to remove the old ALSA state configuration as explained in the link in my first post?
If yes, I can only suggest you to search the alsa users email list for threads about the same hardware as yours. If you find nothing, you can consider to ask for help on this email list. _________________ "Confirm You are a robot." - the singularity |

Plz check your mixer settings again. I use alsamixer..
On the playback tab:
*) Master up
*) Mic Boost activated (press M)
*) AMic muted
*) Analog Mix up
On the capture tab:
*) Master up and Captur activated (press Space Bar)
*) Mic up and Captur activated (press Space Bar)
*) Analog Mix up
That did the trick for me. Hope this helps. |

I've been on the forums of several versions of Linux (Ubuntu, SUse, Mandrake) and many people are having the same problem. Could this be a problem with the upgrade of alsa? _________________ Boredom is a personal Defect

It can append sometime when upgrading alsa that the controls or the control's name for your sound card are changing. At restart, alsa will notice this and start with new mixer values. Mixer like kmixer and other are know for having missing controls sometime. In case of problems, the first mixer to try is alsamixer in a console. Some mixer controls do have a mute associated control. press the space bar in that case. Other mixer controls do have separated mute controls, press the M key. _________________ "Confirm You are a robot." - the singularity |
