non trovo spiegazioni a riguardo. Tu sei riuscito a compilare gentoo in distcc con quel sito ? Se si come ? Grazie !

Io leggendo nel forum di gentoo-italia ho visto che la cosa era in stato abbastanza embrionale, tempo fa.
Comunque ora non posso tenere in comp acceso 24/24h per problemi di corrente.
Esiste un howto su questa cosa? (non sul distcc) |

distcc fa una cosa che non mi piace, durante la compilazione, il microprocessore certe volte si "freeza" per aspettare i pacchetti dalla rete.. penso che proverò ad usare mosix..

Occhio però che con (open)mosix devi usare cflags molto meno aggressive (se hai una rete di macchine disomogenee). E comunque se ti limiti alla distribuzione della sola compilazione distcc è molto più efficiente. |

Beh io ho fastweb, e per server ho usato quelli di gentoo-italia. Non è lenta la mia rete ho 130k reali in down e 50 circa in upload..

E' fatto per andare in rete locale. O quasi 
Quello che conta non è la banda (basta poca banda per trasferire in un lampo i file compilati che di solito sono piccolissimi) ma la latenza (gentoo-italia sta sicuramente su una rete diversa da fastweb). Il ping dovrebbe essere più che significativo in questo caso.
Quindi direi che se ti organizzi con altri utenti fw stai apposto
