i upgraded xine yesterday to 0.9.11, it compiled without problems, but when i try to start it:
Code:
Xine Bibliothek, Version 0.9.11 (0.9.11a) gefunden.
Speicherzugriffsfehler
(Speicherzugriffsfehler=Segmentation fault)

I unmerged every xine-package, re-compiled it, but the error stays. strace ends with:
Code:

I've just seen that 0.9.12 is out, 2 days after 0.9.11... So you were probably not the only one with bugs.

It's a language problem, seems it doesn't like german environment. setting LANG="en" and it works.

trying to upgrade to 0.9.12 doesn't work currently due to
Code:
make[3]: *** [xine-bugreport] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/xine-ui-0.9.12/work/xine-ui-0.9.12/misc'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/xine-ui-0.9.12/work/xine-ui-0.9.12/misc'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/xine-ui-0.9.12/work/xine-ui-0.9.12'make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
well ... carrying on ....

I have the same problem. Xine is segfaulting when I use other locale settings than POSIX or en_us.

El Condor: Could you file a bug about this at the XINE team?

I got an email stating that 0.9.12 does not have this locale-problem anymore. I will post it as soon as it compiles *sigh*
