Okay, so I don't like it.
Tired of it.
I'm happy with KDE3 and WindowMaker.
So how can I safely unmerge gnome without screwing things up...
like galeon.
Do I simply change my USE with the "-gnome" flag, unmerge gnome, gnome-session and gnome-control-center?
Just looking for some helpful hints. I like the way my system is running and just don't ever use gnome. And it bugs me that I still have it installed.
Thanks for the help!

as I'm not sure of which version you are talking I'll assume its 1.4
Theres no gnome-session package.
emerge -C gnome-core
make sure you keep : gconf, ORBit, gnome-vfs and gnome-libs
you can probably remove control-center eel nautilus gdm libgtop and gnome-applets too

once you've done, have set your USE="-gnome" then make sure that you have a working gnome-libs by doing :
Code:
emerge gnome-libs galeon --onlydeps

this may drag in some needed dependencies that you broke while uninstalling.

do the same for the packages you have that you want to still work.
