in the same directory you downloaded the iso from there is a .iso.DIGESTS file... which contains the MD5 and SHA1 hash-sums of the iso files.

There is no official location for any gentoo files as they are located on multiple mirrors, all you have to do is choose the mirror that is closest to you so you get the best speeds possible when downloading gentoo files from the internet |
