Again, one time more... all packages which should install kernel modules (for me it's alsa-driver, kvm, nvidia-drivers) failed to merge with about the same error: | Code: |

I had the same thing a while ago
Just do
| Code: | | FEATURES=-sandbox emerge your_wanted_packagename |
It should install fine then

That's well known for me, so I have all these packages installed already. In my opinion disabling sandbox isn't a solution it's a workaround... Generally speaking disabling sandbox not a good idea. |

In my experience it's always best to do as much "in tree" when playing around
with cutting edge (rc/git) kernels.
The userspace alsa library is relatively stable and has never screwed me around
when compiling ALSA straight into my kernel.
