hello there...i have some .rtf files in a usb stick that my girlfriend wrote on her pc using Windows notepad/wordpad(i'm not exactly sure which one of the two, though i don't think it should matter)...i am trying to access these files on my Gentoo using kate, gvim, kwrite without success...i mounted the usb stick using "iocharset=utf8" and am able to view correctly the greek characters in the filename with konqueror but when i try to open the file using one of the editors i mentioned eveyrthing looks chinese...can something be done about this?? i followed the gentoo guide about utf8 support and didn't have any problems before...

I think that is because .rtf uses markup just like Microsoft Word does, the editors you use are meant for plain text (I suppose) and can't deal with markup _________________ /* Insert funny quote */ |
