Hey!
I had another post here, where I couldn't get it to work.
There modules are loaded:
pcmcia_core
prism2_pci
p80211 [prism2_pci]
nvidia
mousedev
hid
input [mousedev hid]
3c59x
the wlan0 is listed with an ip on ifconfig -a
I can ping and so on.
I still cannot load pcmcia module:
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o: init_module: Operation not permitted
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o: insmod ds failed
* Starting pcmcia...
cardmgr[3997]: no pcmcia driver in /proc/devices
* cardmgr failed to start. Make sure that you have PCMCIA
* modules built or support compiled into the kernel [ !! ]
But I seems to have a problem.. the ip is correct.. but the programs can't find the ip! glftpd says this is message:
Jun 4 19:27:23 gentoo [glftpd][3967]: Invalid site IP (valid_ip set to another interface)
eggdrop says this:
[19:42] * Hostname self-lookup failed. Please set 'my-ip' in the config file.
Even tho this is set in the eggdrop.con file!
I really need to get the ip settings set properly otherwise it's useless.. well not 100% useless, my psybncs are running perfectly! (dunno why)
Do I need to get the pcmcia fixed for this issue?
Please help if you can! _________________ ___________

1. make sure you have disabled PCMCIA support in kernel (recompile...)
2. re-emerge pcmcia-cs
that should fix the modules issue
for the hostname issue make sure you have added "127.0.0.1 localhost" to your /etc/hosts file. also make sure your hostname and your ip-address is listed there too. e.g. "192.168.0.1 machine.example.com" _________________ A mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems. ~ Alfred Renyi (*1921 - †1970) |
