Hello,
the clock is always late. I set it and after its still late. It becomes good after a reboot. If the computer is on for 2 days, then by the end it is late by 1 hour.. I dont know what is the problem. It is good with windows and ubuntu, but wrong with gentoo and arch. I have no idea. :o

I remember having a similar problem a little while back. Removing /etc/adjtime solved the problem back then. Have a look at /etc/init.d/clock and the man page of hwclock if you're interested in the details.

The purpose of adjtime is to anticipate the drift of your clock. At the moment (asuming you did a restart of the clock service e.g. by means of a reboot), I expect that a default adjtime is created - containing all zeroes. Next time you correct the time, some calculation will take place in order to derive the drift of your clock. The result of all of this is stored in adjtime. From now on, your clock will be a whole lot more accurate.

Another option for getting an accurate time is to use NTP (http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_NTP)
