gcc-3.3.6 a dependency for xorg-x11? [SOLVED]

i already have gcc 4.1.2 on my system, but emerge -pv xorg-x11 tells me that gcc-3.3.6-r1 is a dependency. i'd rather avoid building gcc again if i can, but does anyone know if this is a mistake or not?

you need to install 'libstdc++-v3"
