I'm having trouble getting eth0 recognized. My mobo is a Gigabyte 7VAX with integrated ethernet. Any help for a newb would be greatly appreciated. :D

The mobo is of the KT400 series, and according to the pretty picture on the installation guide (I have looked at the actual hardware yet) the Onboard LAN Chip is a RTL8100BL.

Ok, I did some heavy googling and found that the 8139too module does infact work for this particular chipset. So I investigated my setup and noticed that Gentoo was finding eth0 correctly when booting from the install CD. It was only after running
Code:
ifconfig
that eth0 was dying a horrible death :!:

So I'll do some searching on bugs.gentoo.org and post this as an install bug if needed.

Does running ifconfig kill eth0 for you? When I was installing, everything came up correctly until I ran ifconfig. When doing so, ifconfig display eth0 but then networking died. Running ifconfig again would not show eth0.
