mysql query profiling

I've emerged the latest version of mysql available - 5.0.44, which should support query profiling, yet it doesn't. I feel like some default linker flags causing query profiler being dropped from the package.

Any ideas about how can I can query profiler to work?

yes, this feature should be available in anything >=mysql-5.0.34 but it's not, so i filed a bug report "feature request" at
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=187642
