Somehow, you managed to set the ABI to x86, when it should be amd64. Also, gcc thinks it should install files to /usr/lib32. You need to check your profile link in /etc, look inside the toolchain-related files in /etc/env.d, and make sure you really got the amd64 binpkg for glibc. Did you mess around with gcc or something while trying to fix the system?

You know, with all the time spent on this, you could've just reinstalled and been finished by now.

I don't have to reinstall... i just wanted to know what went wrong..i have more systems installed including another x86_64.

I would bet that you used an x86 live cd to quick package glibc. Try Neddy's suggestion with an x86_64 livecd so the CHOST is correct
