"sse" does not appear in
Code:
emerge --info | grep sse
even I put it into my /etc/make.conf. How can this happen?

Something else is strange. This is from the first post:
Quote:

x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -march=athlon64 -O2 -pipe -DARCH_X86 -mmmx -m3dnow -msse -mfpmath=sse

but in your "emerge --info" is this:
Quote:

CFLAGS="-march=k8 -O2 -pipe"

Notice also that sse was apparently being used. Did you alter your CFLAGS after the build first failed?

Yes, i switched to "k8" and tried again without success. Afterthat i made emerge --info. But the missing sse flag was the reason. Ardour is now compiling after i switched the profile from 2006.1 to 2007.1

OK, now it makes sense. That use flag was originally disabled on amd64 in the 2006.x profiles. The 2007.0 Changelog:
Quote:

ChangeLog: force >=portage-2.1.2 on 2007.0 and unmask all available assembler USE flags
ChangeLog: enable mmx{,ext}, sse{,2} by default
ChangeLog: Removing the suggested USE flags from the desktop profile, as discussed on
