Well, after searching these forums, and then googling, i have come up with nothing, and so, what must I do to use add-ons in WoW?! I've tried using wine (hey it was worth a shot and i'm pretty new to this), then i tried to emerge it, but no ebuild found >.< Please if someone can help me, i'm really missing my add-ons from windows =( _________________ I'm a warlock. Are you asking, "I have a .zip file full of UI mods, what do I do with it?"?
(hmmm... never had the occasion to end a sentence in two questionmarks before )
The program you are looking for is unzip.
First cd into the addons directory. Exactly where that is depends on how you installed WoW. Usually it'll be ~/.wine/drive_c/World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons. But the first part of that might be different if you put it somewhere else.
Then you unzip /path/to/your/addon.zip.
Most of the time it'll make the correct directories and you'll be all set.
Occasionally there's a addon that has just flat files and it seems to expect you to make the directory first. One way to check is to unzip it someplace else first and look, then move the files over making a directory if necessary.
Does this answer your question? |
