|
|
I'm trying to get MinGW setup using Crossdev on my AMD64 machine. Yay! That's an amazing idea, but...
Code: | crossdev i686-pc-mingw32 |
Says...
Code: | x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-ar: can't set BFD default target to `x86_64-pc-linux-gnu': Invalid bfd target |
Okay, so it's telling me to go f*** myself. Sweet. I've tried sourcing and PORTDIR_OVERLAYing all sorts of stuff in make.conf.
Erm, help?
EDIT: What's BFD? Big F***ing Deal? And why is it trying to set the target to anything x86_64? Does it even know I'm going for x86? _________________ Git has obsoleted SVN.

i´m not sure, can´t find anything relevant in bugzilla either, but i think i´ve read somewhere this is yet another problem with gcc-4.3.
Did you try with a lower version, 4.1.x or even 3.4.x ?

keep an eye on what it´s building, crossdev should clearly say that it´s target is i686 in your case.
I used i586-mingw as target once in the past and i don´t remember having any major problems with crossdev, don´t know about the current status of mingw ...
