Hi

I've got a problem. I've installed new gcc 3.2.3-r1 (previously 3.2.2) and glibc. Seems to be ok, but when I try compile gaim I get strange message and can't figure out what to do. The message is:

Code:
libtool: link: cannot find the library `/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.2/libstdc++.la`

Since I don't have any longer gcc 3.2.2, I know there is no such directory. Current directory is /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2.3/, but why doesn't it search there? I thought that maybe library directories are wrong, but either ld.so.conf and /etc/env.d/05gcc have good path. I've done env-update & something with profile (can't remember). But that didn't helped either. I've checked maybe my ld.so.cache still has wrong paths but everything is ok (except there is nothing with .la extension) . Don't know what to do anymore and I'd like not to do any symlinks. Is there some more packages which should be recompiled atfer gcc upgrade?? Any suggestions?? Thanks

I have the same problem, this one is just after a 3.2.1 to 3.2.2 update...

I have run gcc-config, env-update, and ldconfig, which didn't help...

I've tried to find 3.2.1 in /etc/, but nothing relevant seem to show itself. :?

Any ideas, anyone?

According to another thread (can't remember which), it seems to be a problem with the path to libstdc++ hardcoded in aspell, I'm reemerging aspell now, and then I'll try to reemerge gedit (which was the program I had trouble with), I checked gaim, and it is very possible that the problem is the same, as it has app-text/gtkspell as a dependency, did you check if it is that package, and not gaim that complains?

I'll tell you the result of my reemerges when I'm done.

It worked perfectly for gedit, if it doesn't for gaim, try reemerging gtkspell...
