Has anyone ever heard of this happening?
When trying to download the x86 tarball I run out of disk space.
The tarball is 111 MB.
I used the command du -ms /*/ and it appears there is enough space.
Any thoughts?
and I did do {cd /mnt/gentoo} _________________ My name is TommyCotton

Try the df command instead of du.
... and welcome to the Gentoo Forums. |

Thanks for the hospitality,
It seems I have the space available, but I can't download the tarball.
After about 88 MB
it says {no space left on device}
what gives?
I've been stumped for hours. _________________ My name is TommyCotton |

I guess I was a little bit vague with my first suggestion.
If you do this from a LiveCD
It will show you what filesystems are mounted (there should be quite a few).
The important one to look for will have "/mnt/gentoo" in the far right column titled "Mounted on".
This is the partition that will be the root of your Gentoo installation (you want at least 2GB available here). |

Is your partition mounted at /mnt/gentoo? _________________ Please add "[solved]" to the initial topic title when it is solved. TIA.
