Hi all,
I used to always try the new kenerls from kernel.org, and something is troubling me :
each time I re-comp a new kernel, I have to re-com my radeon XFree Driver. But when I do an emerge Xfree I cannot acces the sources of Xfree trough /var/tmp/portage/...
So each time I get a new kernel , I have re-emerge xfree, which take a .. long time. Anyone does have solution in this ? |

what kind of video card do you have? you shouldn't need to re-emerge everytime you install a new kernel.
If it is nvidia, just re-emerge nvidia-kernel and you should be fine. |

| it's a laptop with an ATI radeon 7500. The xfree-drm or gatos drivers don't work with 2.5 kernels .. |
