I just wondered where all the things that were in portage are, and why some new things doesn't show up.
Right now i can't remember so many things i miss but at least i miss these two:

THANKS |

To merge a masked package you can use ACCEPT_KEYWORDS.
In your case:
| Code: | | ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge superkaramba |
or call emerge with the full path of the ebuild:
| Code: | | emerge /usr/portage/x11-misc/superkaramba/superkaramba-0.21.ebuild |

| because they are not considered "stable enough" to be part of stable, i.e. they might break something, clash with other packages in stable or blah blah blah. |
