amd64 minimal install cd freezes at probing ide [solved]

I take it this problem occurs when trying to boot the livecd itself, and not a kernel build using that livecd. If this is true, try to boot and older livecd and do an lspci to see what kind of ide controller you have. Maybe it is no longer supported? :cry:
