Hi!
I recently updated gnome 2.14... to 2.16...
In 2.14 i had no sound in gnome, which didnt bother me. e.g. i didn't hear sound effects or the sound-(or volume?) applet didn't work. The main thing was that the hda sound card worked.
I used the media key in the laptop or in a usb-keyboard to increse/decrrease volume. A nice window poped up with the volume-bar in it.
In gnome 2.16 i have sound and everything works also fine, but when i try to raise/decrease the volume, nothing happens. The window with the volume-bar pops up , but there is no bar.
I don't know, what am i doing wrong? Pls help me!
i've kernel-2.6.18-gentoo-r2 |

for the ones that have similar problems, i solved it and here is how:
like i said, the volume-control-applet didn't work. It said: the sound card isn't configured or a gstreamer-plugin is missing.
My sound card is configure and works pretty good. So the problem was in the gstreamer. I emerged gstreamer-plugins-alsa, restart x and problem solved! |
