I was pretty stoked that I was able to update the PROM through tftp server. I did this because I was told that I probably needed to that so that I could boot up the sparc gentoo livecd. Did it and when I booted back up I add a few problems when i:
I got 2 Fatal errors. One was Fatal error: pci@1f,0;usb@c,3 and Fatal error: <something to the effect can not boot cdrom I think> should have wrote it down. I was thinking maybe it was to large of a jump for the PROM from 4.6 to 4.17. I don't know.
I looked on line and found stuff like.
Code: |
printenv
setenv boot-device? false
reset-all
boot cdrom
|
I was still getting the same errors so I tried a different one
Code: |
setenv input-device ttya
setenv output-device ttya
reset-all
|
safe to say I have completely broke I guess. When I boot up I get one single tone the monitor light goes solid like it wants to do something then it starts flashing. So I wondering with all the awesome wisdom out there is there a way to recover back? I have a Sun Blade 150 I'm dieing to get Gentoo on.

You set the console to the serial port with the "setenv" commands.

Try to reset the NVRAM. |

Thanks you. I got the manual for it and looked it all up. So just in case some does the same thing on a Blade 150. To reset it you:
Code: |
power on
wait for blinking light on the front
at the first tone
press the power button twice
|
then when its done rebooting
Code: |
ok setenv-defaults
ok reset-all
|
