Gnome Installation

I am getting the follow error when i try to run gnome (via startx)

(EE) Failed to load module "mouse" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "kbd" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) No input driver matching 'mouse'
(EE) No input driver matchcing 'kbd'


Any Clues?

look at the output of "emerge -pv xorg-server" you should see you haven t defined any INPUT_DEVICES, so add "INPUT_DEVICES = mouse keyboard" to your make.conf and it should work (don t forget to check VIDEO_CARD as well). If you re using a laptop and want touchpad support you should add synaptic to your INPUT_DEVICE section.

I added "INPUT_DEVICES = mouse keyboard" to /etc/make.conf file.
Not do i have to recompile the kernel?

You don t need to recompile the kernel, only xorg-server and it s new dependencies (kbd and mouse module)

You have added far too many VIDEO_CARDS just add support for the card you have
