The linux-phc patch doesn't work; I do get the op_points_table in sysfs, but if I try to echo something to it the computer goes nuts, and every other time thereafter that I try catting from or echoing to any file in sysfs (e.g cat /proc/cpuinfo), the process hangs. Emerging files hangs as well, though CPU usage is at 0-4%.
I saw someone reporting this for viper1 as well; as for me, I have no experience, as it's my first viper install. Do you know if you can fix it? Else i'll just go with vanilla and apply it myself, no problem. _________________ Non fa male! Non fa male! |

The fan control works with this kernel but not with .22. So what shall I do with that patch? _________________ Workstation: 5.1 SurroundSound, LIRC remote control; Laptop [IBM-T43]: patched sources, s2disk/ram, fingerprint sensor |

Wait for a working patch from whoopie for 2.6.22? I can tell you from experience you aren't losing out by not updating to 2.6.22-rcX right now. _________________ Viper-Sources Maintainer || nesl247 Projects || vipernicus.org blog |

I can''t stay with this kernel because it has issues with unionfs. But ok I can live without fan control Thanks anyway. _________________ Workstation: 5.1 SurroundSound, LIRC remote control; Laptop [IBM-T43]: patched sources, s2disk/ram, fingerprint sensor |

Hi,
for thinkpad_acpi and kernel 2.6.22, you need to set the fan_control module parameter ("modprobe thinkpad_acpi fan_control=1").
Best regards,
Whoopie |
