Hi I have a HP dv6356eu, with an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56, nvidia geforce go 7200.
Gentoo AMD64, Genkernel 2.6.20-r7. Also tried 2.6.20-r8, 2.6.21.
I'm using Nvidia drivers 1.0-9755 and have stability problems, red vertical lines all over the place, hard locks.
When I switch to crlt+alt+F1 I see a white vertical line in the middle of the screen.
Some times it lock in the nvidia logo, I can't switch to the console or any think but I can reboot by doing ctrl+alt+del.
The xorg nv driver works. I tried stable versions of the nvidia drivers and have the same problems.
Can anybody help, I'm not in the affected system right now but I'll send logs and config files as requested.
Thank you.
More Problems:
(Later I'll make treads for this too)
powernow-k8 not working. -- dmesg reports BIOS problem.
rtc is disabled because it gave me hard lock, I'm now using ntp to set the time.
SOLVED: updated bios to version f.28 solved the nvidia-drivers problem.
Best Regards,
Tomas
