I installed VMware 6.0 x86_64 on my AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ after uninstalling a working 5.5 release, and get this nasty error when running the app (vmware modules have been built for my kernel and loaded):

/usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-tray: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-tray: undefined symbol: _ZN3Gtk10StatusIcon6createERKNS_7StockIDE

Anyone have any ideas where I should even start looking? I'll post any relevant info if needed. Thanks.

VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=yes vmware
or
VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=force vmware
from the vmware forum , work for me
