Hi,
I have a system running on sata disk. Now I have another same size disk and was thinking of makin raid1. Read some docs and found a point, that I need to format the file system to make raid, and after that my all data will be lost.
I there a workig way to create a software raid1 from scratch without loosing data (data is very importing)? _________________ gentoo.lt

I am not 100% shure if it will work but you could try to partiton the new drive as for RAID 1 without second drive create a raid with only one drive copi date from existing drive to raid drive change cfg files and restart from raid drive and if it boots add second drive repartition as raid one and add to the matrix and raid 1 drivers should be syncrinize But you shoud get an backup any way. _________________ www.gentoo.ro |
