I started an emerge for the pure ftpd server gui module and didn't realize that qt is a dep. Its huge (qt that is) and I was wondering how long its going to take to build. Also is there anything that I sould know about with the update to qt? Don't want to mess anything up here. Should have used the --pretend flag but was in a hurry. Oh well. Thanks for any input.

I've got some bad feelings about this. Someone please put my mind at ease. I seems like its building kde2 from the ground up. Can I ctrl c this and stop it without messing anything up?
Ok so it was kdelib 2.XXX (whatever) that was a dep for kcmpureftpd. Does this mean that it kcmpureftpd won't work with kde3? Does this mean that I have screwed up kde3 in any way? Im in it now but afraid to log out and back in to see . |

| Ok all is well. I loged out and that process froze on me and I HAD to hit the reset btutton. I rebooted thinking crap I just pooched kde3 but I got back in fine. I unmerged kdelibs 2.2.2-r4 and also that pureftp gui crap. Everything seems to be running fine after this. Should I be on the look out for files/directories that should be gotten rid of? For instance after unmerging kdelibs2.2.2 there is still a directory for it in /usr/kde. Can I delete the "2" directory in there? |

You should be able to, but the safest thing to do would be to mv it to /var or somewhere else, wait a few days to see if anything gets borked, and then delete it.

| Thanks. Sorry if I wasn't very clear on the situation. It was late. I just renamed that directory. It didn't cause any problems that I can see. Shouldn't there be some type of warning about that package only woring with kde2. Or am I mistaken in saying that it only works with kde2? |
