After about 15 minutes of compilation, bash spat out this error after executing '# emerge xorg-server':

Code:
make: warning: file '/usr/include/glib-2.0/gio.h' has modification time 2.9et 04 s in the future

It just keeps showing this constantly every second, filling the screen with this error.

Can anyone help? :D

What is the current date/time of your machine? Compilations will start to complain sometimes if it is really off.

is there a way to check, I'm pretty sure it's up to date.

And how to stop the constant hanging?

You can check the current date/time with the date command. You can also change it using the same command. I think the gentoo handbook has the correct syntax in one of the early chapters (I always forget the correct order).

You might also want to re-emerge glib after you correct the date if the problem persists.

You will need to post more details about the hanging problem before we can help...

Ended up re-emerging glib, and it fixed the problem.

Cheers
