| KDEInit could not launch kcontrol (No Control Panel) and also kmail does not work, no messages just dies, anybody had the same problems ? other than that it looks like bye bye Red Hat for good |

try starting kmail from a console window, rather than clicking on a GUI icon. When it dies, it should give you some relevant error output. Please post that here. My guess is some part of KDE didn't get emerged (or didn't get emerged correctly.) You might do:
and see what that says.

| Thx for advice, did an upgrade and kmail is now working, control center still not working though, cant paste message at the min, i'm stuck on a windoze box :( |
