...until all the posts are answered. Then we'll see the bugs triggered by unanswered_count == 0. _________________ Plants are pithy, brooks tend to babble--I'm content to lie between them.

Hi,
I'm interested in helping answer unanswered posts.
To your opinion, how could we manage oldest posts like this one: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-463628-highlight-.html ?
I mean what should we do with very old unanswered posts?

| I suggest treating old unanswered posts in a similar fashion to new unanswered posts, though with somewhat reduced priority once the post has been left idle for a prolonged period (duration of which is left to the discretion of the responder). |

I started to deal with oldest unanswered posts just to know if authors found any solution to their issue, then I've been asked by an administrator to stop necromancing and he though I did that to inflate my post number.
Those unanswered are not so easy to take care of...
We also have unanswered when someone just want to publish some kind of Howto, then it's not an unaswered, because there's no question.
I think we should just ignore the oldest! _________________ Powered by (x86) Gentoo Linux since 2003 |

What I was referring to was that if there appears to still be a problem and you are aware of a solution to that problem, offer it, otherwise leave the topic be.
If you want to contact the authors of multiple old unanswered posts regarding whether or not they resolved the issue which they posted about please do so via the private messaging system. |
