do you need it? ie do you have a running gentoo system right now?

I have it and I need it for a new install  (on an other computer that isn't to powerfull)

Install 2006.1, emerge -e world (which you have to do anyway), and you're set.

ok I will re-phrase the quest.. on any machines that you plan on installing Gentoo to are any piece of hardware needed for installation not detected
NOTE the only pieces of hardware that are really needed are ATA controller and NIC controller )although an offline install can be done)
