|
|
Using 2006.1 minimal boot disc the boot sequence stops at Code: | PCI: Probing hardware | Even with the various options such as acpi=off, nodetect, etc it still locks at that point.
The computer is an HP Compaq dc7700p small form factor desktop.
Any ideas/suggestions as to how to get gentoo installed and working on this hardware?
Thanks,
Malcolm

Do you recognize any weird settings in its BIOS? Although that PC might have an almost non-configurable BIOS. Also check to see if it has a BIOS update available. _________________ Advanced Signature Camouflage System®(ASCS) v0.1 |

Hah! Eventually got it to work. Had to use the following options at boot: Code: | gentoo-nofb acpi=off noapm noapic nodetect pci=conf1 |
The 2.6.19+ kernel works fine with this hardware, except, with no acpi support. |
