I see what looks like the end of an emerge, and an Ubuntu logo. I'm confused.

I am so hoping to do that myself in the next 6 months. dual 19" LCDs ftw!

Actually, I need to find something with a better dpi, but for 210, I think mine is Good Enough.

What will you use for a WM? wmii and dwm don't like dual-head setups I don't think?

That is the question of the day. I've been debating on two X sessions currently, but then again I could see what I could do to patch dwm to handle dual monitors well...

Or someone could see if the people at X.org would develop an X system that didn't make the WM think its on a dual-head, and simply make it think its running at 2560x1260 or something.

So I'm conventional... :)

I used to use that other one, what's it called? Cronkite?

You know for nvidia cards there is this Option "NoTwinViewXineramaInfo" "true" its supposed to make all apps think that it is one larg monitor, maybe this would work, somebody can correct me if I`m wrong.

EDIT: and WM too(I just looked it up http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_nVidia_TwinView)

Man, that's the best looking fluxbox setup I've seen in my short time with fluxbox. Please share every damn thing about it.

Especially, what's that media bar down the bottom? Is it specific to gimmix? It's slick as all hell.

The only problem I see with this is dividing the screen into an odd number of columns, or ones of varying width. For example if you split it into 3 in dwm/wmii you would have one column in the middle being partially on both monitors, which would suck.

thx man ;)

conkyrc:
http://vermaden.proplayer.pl/tmp/DOT.conkyrc

there are some dirty workarounds in .conkyrc and fluxbox menu to make it look and work the way You seen on the screenshot since conky is VERY bugged sh!t ;) I would use torsmo, but torsmo does not offer an option to check if a mount point is mounted or not, of course this can be done with some simple script but I was too lazy ;)

whole fluxbox setup:
http://vermaden.proplayer.pl/tmp/verfluxbox.tar.gz

wallpapers as usual here:

gimmix is only the GTK2 thingy on the right:
http://gimmix.berlios.de/index.php

the MPD control on the bottom is fbpanel and it behaves like that:
http://vermaden.proplayer.pl/gfx/photos/fbpanel.avi

their site:
http://fbpanel.sf.net

and my fbpanel config [there are many diffrent bars]:

EDIT:

BTW: I forgot one thing, if You miss any scripts used in the setup they are here:

When you installed what I assume is some variation of the Human icon theme, it probably included distributor-logo.png which is used for the menu.

The only problem I see with this is dividing the screen into an odd number of columns, or ones of varying width. For example if you split it into 3 in dwm/wmii you would have one column in the middle being partially on both monitors, which would suck.

Depending on how dwm/wmii handle the column sorting, you could probably have it set limits at points (like have the 1st column stop at 1280, then have the rest from there on over) to keep from having a split window. Another possibilty is to try and remove the screen from the casing and trying to butt them up side-by-side to make it into, effectivly, one huge monitor (if you have an old, crappy LCD, then try this out and see what you can manage :))

Would have to dig through the code, but it would make for an interesting patch, and then suddenly dwm/wmii can work with multiple monitors and not have to (hopefully) jack up the size of the code alot.
