Hello,

I have an external Raid (Raid=/dev/sda and Raid2=/dev/sdb) system connected to a server.
Recently I am getting a list of error similar to this one
Quote:

SCSI error : <0 0 1 0> return code = 0x10000
end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 747001783
ReiserFS: sdb1: warning: zam-7001: io error in reiserfs_find_entry
SCSI error : <0 0 1 0> return code = 0x10000
end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 370858663

I checked my Raid, didn't see any error...
No error seen onmy /dev/sda
and when i start getting these error, my /dev/sdb will not be accessible with Input/Output error. However /dev/sda is always up and accessible.

Yesterday i changed the drives of my /dev/sdb, after badblocks command showed me many bad sectors. But before changing these drives i had the same error...

Any suggestions to check and to solve this problem.

Thank you

Dany

Just install this: http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=smartmontools

and check your harddisks.

it's the same result for both drives sda and sdb.
What do you think?

Thank you

Smartmontools has some additional features. Just have a look at the man page.

A second possibitly for the errors are: power/scsi cables, active termination.
