|
|
I've got a Sunblade 150 with Solaris but I want install Gentoo (install-sparc64-universal-2006.1.iso).
I burn de image with Nero (Disc-at-once and Finalize cd) over cd-rw (I don't know if I must use a cd-r???).
Well, when I try to install over sunblade (I push stop-a, and I type boot cdrom) my machine always answer de same:
Boot device: /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@1,0:f File and args:
Can't read disk label.
Can't open disk label package
Can't open boot device
ok
My cd reader don't have problem because it can read Solaris original cd's.
Please, someone knows something about?. |

Are you sure you're burning it right? You're not just burning the iso file to the cd right? I usually just use nero express if I am on windows, and click burn image, then select all files, then choose the iso. If you choose data cd and just drag the ISO it will not work. |

Yes, I do as you say and I tried burn it a lot of times but always the same answer. The problem is that the sparc answer is very simple and I really don't know whats the problem. From Xp I can read de Cd whitout problems.
Thank you for all!!. |

I use ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) whilst in windows as it is free and makes burning images a snap. Just choose Mode > Write and pick your image. If you stick with Nero Express, make sure you're selecting "Disc Image or Saved Project". The options "Disc at once" and "Finalize CD" shouldn't be available if you are burning an image. Those options are only available if you are burning the ISO as a data CD which is not correct.
