|
|
Hi all,
I did a fresh gentoo install on an ultrasparc machine. Everythig works just great (excellent system performance ) but for the keyboard and mouse. It seems to me the device nodes aren't being formed. I have udev on the system and in the starting part it shows udev working out its things. I have sunkeyboard 4 & 5 support built in the kernel. So what could be the issue??
thanks
Saurabh
EDIT:- solved by re-compiling kernel with serial drivers. don't know why this should work though as the mouse keyboard aren't connected through serial port |

Sun type 5 keyboards run 1200bps serial that is "somewhat" RS232 (TTL RS232). The connector just isn't a D-shell type. This is true for the type 5 mouse as well. Google it and you will find a wealth of bare-metal info (including upgrading your type 5 mouse to 4800bps.)
