Hi, I am using a 2006.1 livecd with USE=nptl nptlonly in my make.conf

But I just can't get NPTL in my glibc?

I recompiled glibc gcc and my system twice even did bootstrap twice.
Once with STAGE1_USE="nptl nptlonly".

Nothing seems to work....

Anyone had problems with this?

Use Stage 3, Stage 1 is no longer supported by Gentoo, stage 3 gives you everything stage 1 does without the hassle.

Check which profile you're using - I think the no-nptl profile will override the USE flags.

Did you use the newuse flag?

e.g.
Code:
USE="nptl nptlonly" emerge -av --newuse glibc

Silly suggestions led the OP to use stage 1 in the first place. Just use stage 3, no nptl problems there.
