hi guys,

I'm having a problem with updating packages with "emerge -u world" because it quits with an error when trying to emerge media-libs/libsdl-1.2.4.20020601.

I tried removing the old libsdl-package too, but emerge -u world still tries to update it. i've also run emerge --clean rsync to get rid of old stuff.

The error goes as follows :

Calculating world dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge media-libs/libsdl-1.2.4.20020601 to /
>>> md5 ;-) libsdl-1.2.4.20020601.tar.bz2
>>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking libsdl-1.2.4.20020601.tar.bz2
>>> Source unpacked.

Read and earlier post about trying to remove xine first, and i've tried that to no avail.

Happy for any help you can provide.

Cheers

Try running "emerge rsync --clean" and try it again.

Try the older version -- "emerge libsdl-1.2.4-r2.ebuild".

No, that don't work.. quits with error :

emerge libsdl-1.2.4-r2.ebuild
Calculating dependencies \

!!! ebuild /libsdl-1.2.4-r2 not found (possibly blocked by package.mask)

Guess that's due to --clean or something, cause it's not listed in "package.mask"

I had the same problem but duplicate macro was defined gimp-print-cups so I unmerged that and it worked. Did you unmerge xine and dvdnav and then try libsdl?
