I done an emerge world and performed 11 updates including glibc

After doing this I tried to re-install beryl from the xeffects overlay. However both beryl-plugins and beryl-plugins-unsupported have compile errors now.

beryl-plugins
Code:

decoration.c:323: error: expected ';', ',' or ')' before '*' token
decoration.c: In function 'decorInitScreen':
decoration.c:1347: error: 'decorDrawWindow' undeclared (first use in this function)
decoration.c:1347: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
decoration.c:1347: error: for each function it appears in.)

make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/x11-plugins/beryl-plugins-9999/work/beryl-plugins'
make: *** [all] Error 2

beryl-plugins-unsupported
Code:

debug.c: In function 'print_compdisplay':
debug.c:187: error: 'CompDisplay' has no member named 'focusOnCloseMode'
debug.c:188: error: 'CompDisplay' has no member named 'textureAnisotropic'
debug.c:152: warning: unused variable 'stmp'

Also for some reason beryl now has a dependency of aquamarine.

If I remember right, you need portage 2.1.2 < for Beryl SVN. 2.1.2-r9 just went stable today also.

You can easily block out Aquamarine by putting it in package.provided.

Code:

echo x11-wm/aquamarine-0.1.9999.1 >> /etc/portage/profile/package.provided

Same problem here as original thread post. Portage all up-to-date, and I have the exact same issues.

Isn't that the point of creating the post, to advertise it was broken before filing a bug report? Please refer to the Xeffects forum, also:

I hope this is the right thread for this:

was anyone successful in emerging beryl-premerge from xeffects overlay?

Beryl-premerge is inactive and will be replaced by plugins-extra, plugins-main, plugins-unsupported and plugins-wip.

I think they have already been replaced but the new ebuilds are not there yet in the xeffects overlay.

You must have added them about 5 seconds after my last sync :)

Thanks man, I was getting a little worried you might have deserted us.

Thanks you very much, syncing as fast as possible,

I hope your cold is cured, this season time somehow sucks, it's hot as summer & the sun is shining and the other moments it's raining as in autumn

*sniff, cough, cough*

looking forward to compcomm ...

thanks in advance ...

update:

fixed:

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-4043260.html#4043260

just delete distfiles/git-src/emerald* ...

update2:

@nesl247: just wanted to say "thanks a lot", it works pretty fine here
one thing I'm missing right now is beryl-manager; will there be a similar replacement?
it's a little more work to kill compiz & emerald, then launch metacity for switching
