If you want squashfs, you must downgrade RSDL to 0.14 because it is the last patch where it worked.

Ok. I already saw your post somewhere else about that problem but do you know when it will be working together with newer versions of RSDL?

I hope that in next few release, when it became more stable. Now RSDL is highly experimental and versions abowe .14 are pretty unstable for me.

almost the same for me:

until .15 it works pretty fine & feels really "smooth", viper2 just hard locks :(

I've never seen such a responsive desktop under heavy load (xgl, beryl, compiling, several apps open, downloading, surfing, ...)

I have the same feeling: I was impressed when I emerge some new packages and did some common stuff parallel without feeling that Im also compilling and the cpu is fully utilised. So for now I have stick with viper1 and RSDL 0.14 (now testing nicus2 if I will have the same issues with ethernet problems but I think that I will revert to viper)

Not so good here - after a couple of hours testing - a few hard lockups - pressed magick key - no good :)
It has a potential but it's way to much unstable for me.
I'm back to 2.6.17-emission8 8O

Tried -nicus yet? I didn't expect this version of -viper to be that stable.

Same problem with viper (as expected) but nicus runs nicely for me :-)

Just revert RSDL patch to 0.14 and it works ok then.

If you go to the below forum, and upgrade to -viper3, there is a hotfix for RSDL upgrading it to 0.16-0.17. Con believes that this will fix alot of the hardlocking issues that we've been having.
