I got a radeon9700, xv works, uses no cpu usage while I watch full screen video's, but.. if I run it in 1600x1200 (which is my normal resolution) I see 1/4 of the video (even when I run mplayer in a window)... if I set the resolution down to 640x480 xv works normaly, and I see the "entire" video.
any suggestions on how I can get it to show properly in 1600x1200? Not that it is a huge problem to set the resolution down, but in window it also shows 1/4 of the screen, which is impractical when watching small stuff. |

My friend's PC also has this problem with his Radeon 9700. He is using XFree 4.2.1 with the ATI binary drivers. We can't work out how to fix it but mplayer with "-vo gl" seems to be the next best thing.
There are drivers for Xfree 4.3 but not officially released yet. Hopefully new drivers will fix it. |
