Tip 1: Use xorgconfig to generate an appropriate /etc/X11/xorg.conf file that suits your needs and only edit the following:

- Comment the line that says Load "dri" if uncommented
- Uncomment the line that says Load "glx" if commented
- Scroll all the way to the bottom and make sure that everything else related to dri is commented (including all 3 of the mode 0660 lines at the bottom)
- Change nv into nvidia in the device section

Afterwards run the following command: eselect opengl set nvidia && env-update && source /etc/profile

Now try booting xorg-x11 it should work if done correctly.

In case it does not work use try using the latest ~arch version and see if that fixes your problem.

Yes, that is the replacement for opengl-update (I don't know for sure if the command is in the correct order although I do think so)

That's normal for now and will be fixed.

Don't worry for now about that.

Try adding "nvidia" to

/etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6

Code:
echo "nvidia" >> /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6

and reboot.

is /usr/src/linux really a symlink to your running kernel's source? if not, please correct it and re-emerge nvidia-drivers.

The driver that should be used is nvidia and not nv, change nv into nvidia, reboot and everything should work okay.

No title bars, no window borders, etc. None of the theme related stuff appears to work.

Emerald manager runs just fine, gives me a list of all themes just fine. I honestly just have no idea what to actually do from there. Say I see a theme in the emerald manager I like, how do I actually turn it on?? How do I actually use it?

I don't see a button or anything anywhere. I can click it all I want...nothing happens.

Starting beryl-manager from terminal gives no errors at all.

I still get an error though that says this:

(emerald:5130): Gdk-CRITICAL ***: gdk_drawable_unref: assertion 'GDK_IS_DRAWABLE (drawable)' failed.
