|
|
I installed VirtualBox from www.virtualbox.org (The closed source installation package, not the ebuild). I enabled USB in the Virtual machine settings for my WindowsXP installation. The USB host controller and hub was detected and installed upon startup in XP. But I never get to see any USB devices (e.g., a memory stick). I also did what the VirtualBox manual states in the troubleshooting section. Does anybody have VirtualBox running with working USB support?

I found out that one has really to make a filter for every USB device that is supposed to be visible inside the VM. The devices and its parameters can be listed using Code: | VBoxManage list usbhost |

If your main intention is to run winxp on virtual mashine on linux you could try Vmware Server.
EDIT:
Sorry didn't for some reason notice that you solved the problem. |
